Before placing your bid for either of these properties, please be aware of the schedule of bell ringing at St Dunstan’s Church, indicated below. Some applicants may find this inconvenient as it’s in close proximity to Dame Colet Court & Baltonsborough Court.
ST DUNSTAN’S CHURCH BELL SCHEDULE OF RINGING:
Weekly
Thursday 19:30 - 21:30 (practice)
Sunday 09:15 - 10:00 (for service)
Monthly Thursday evening 18:15 - 19:30 (one Thursday per month) (training)
Sunday evening 16:30 - 18:00 (one or two Sundays per month) (for service)
Saturdays - occasionally
Weddings, usually spring through summer, usually no earlier than 11:00 and no later than 18:00
ringing usually for 30 minutes before and / or 20-30 minutes after the service(s). There may be
more than one wedding on a given Saturday.
Visiting bands
A combination of visitor types below, up to 8 times per year - usually Saturdays, occasionally on a weekday.
Travelling bands - ringing for 45 minutes to 1 hour
Quarter peal bands - ringing for 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes
Peal bands - ringing for 3.5 to 4 hours
Annually
Remembrance Sunday: half- muffled bells 8:45 - 10:00
Christmas - service ringing: usually Christmas morning, 9:15 - 10:00
New Year - occasional midnight ringing - for a short time before and after midnight
Holy week - the bells are silent and ringing is resumed Easter morning
